With the spring sun beckoning you to Bisbee and the wind at your back, travel east on Hwy 82, and feast your eyes on rolling grassland country with the lofty Huachuca Mountains at the horizon. Join us for a weekend of camaraderie, fitness and fun in Bisbee! Pedal long rolling hills and enjoy scenic vistas as you make your way to the quaint old mining town of Bisbee, now an arts colony, nestled in Southeast Arizona's Mule Mountains.

DAY ONE: 63 miles, via Tombstone to Bisbee.
Ride north out of the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds in Sonoita and turn east on Hwy 82. The route will be marked with GABA signs at all turns. Continue east to through Mustang Corners towards Tombstone. Cycle east on Hwy 82 to Hwy 80, turn south to pedal through the lively, old town of Tombstone. Stop for a bit and enjoy a meal in one of the old west restaurants, if you desire. Continue south from Tombstone on Hwy 80. From the base of Mule Pass, you have the choice of turning left at top of the hill prior to the tunnel overlooking the town of Bisbee, or a great decent through the tunnel into Bisbee. Your luggage will be waiting for your arrival at your lodging.

DAY TWO: 67.2 miles via Hereford, Palominas, Sierra Vista, Mustang Corners to Sonoita

Many riders get together for breakfast at the Bisbee Breakfast Club located at 75A Erie St in Bisbee.  This is a great place for a group to have breakfast and it's right off the GABA route. However, there are many great places to eat in Bisbee. Check it out!
Enjoy a beautiful decent by the Lavender Pit continuing south on Hwy 92 towards Sierra Vista. Turning right onto Hereford road where you will cross the San Pedro River and continue through some residential areas working your way towards Ft. Huachuca and Sierra Vista. Continue North on Hwy 90 towards Mustang Corners where you will find your last SAG before the 17 mile grand finale. Turn Left onto Hwy 82 cycling the final 17 miles through rolling hills and grasslands back into Sonoita and the end of your wonderful journey.

New, the Copper Queen Coffee Company will be open for breakfast at the Santa Cruz County Fair Grounds in Sonoita on Saturday morning starting at 5 am for the start of the Sonoita-Bisbee Overnight Tour. This is the first time GABA has had an opportunity like this at one of our rides,  so we hope you will check it out.

The Copper Queen Coffee Company will be offering a variety breakfast menu with ham, egg, and cheese burritos, specialty coffee's, hot tea's, , and protein smoothies, as well as, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. Prices range from $4 - $6, debit and credit cards accepted.

STARTING POINT: Saturday Morning in Sonoita at the Fairgrounds, intersection of Hwys 82 & 83. Allow at least 1 hour driving time from Tucson to Sonoita, more coming from the NW side.

From out of Town: If you are from out of town and want to connect with other riders riding in this event so you don't ride alone and to have a great social experience with some wonderful people, please contact the Ride Organizer, Colleen.   I will connect you with other ride participants so you can coordinate getting together for the ride, socialize at meals during the ride and maybe make some new friends.  Please contact Colleen at


     Check-in: 6:30 - 7:30 am Saturday at the Santa Cruz County fairgrounds on Hwy 83 a block south of the intersection of Hwy 82 & 83 in Sonoita. Free parking.

     Baggage vehicle leaves Sonoita: 8 am Saturday

     Baggage arrives in Bisbee: Between 12-1pm Saturday

     Baggage vehicle leaves Bisbee: 9:00 am Sunday (leave your luggage where it was delivered on Saturday)

     Baggage arrives in Sonoita: 12:00 pm Sunday


Your Sonoita-Bisbee Tour Fee Includes:
1). Safe parking for your car at Sonoita Fairgrounds for the whole weekend
2). SWEEP Support along the route on both days for tired cyclists or bike problems
3). 3 SAG Stops along the course each day with fruit, snacks, and lunch makings
4). Truck to deliver luggage at your lodging from our accommodations list
5). Route map and riders instructions
6). GABA signs at each turn along the course for both days

Luggage will be delivered in Bisbee by 1 pm on Saturday. On Sunday morning, please have your luggage where it was delivered on Saturday, no later then 9 am.  If luggage is not set out for the luggage truck driver in the right place before by 9 am, it will not be picked up.  Luggage will be delivered to the Sonoita Fairgrounds by 12 noon on Sunday.

If you cancel day of the ride, no refund will be issued.

If you cancel 1 week or less prior to the ride, you get half of your money back in one of these options:
1. GABA Credits if used (these are tracked online for your next ride registration, membership renewal, etc…
2. Credit Card will be refunded
3. Check if credit card registration is older than 120 days

If you cancel more than a week prior to the ride, you will receive a full refund in one of these options:

In inclement weather, the ride organizer will determine the morning of the ride at the start location if it will be cancelled. Keep in mind that if the weather is bad at your location, that does not mean it is bad at the ride location. If cancelled, you will be issued a refund.
