Cave Creek Overnight Ride
Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, 2018.
Start/Finish: Animas High School, 1 Panther Blvd, Animas New Mexico 88020
Distance: 30 miles each day of riding. 

Nestled in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, is Cave Creek Canyon, a hidden gem, with spectacular cliffs, flowing streams and abundant wildlife. Many visitors have referred to Cave Creek as,  "Arizona's Yosemite."

With magnificent scenery and unparalleled biodiversity, Cave Creek Canyon is a special place. Birding is fine here year round, especially in the spring and summer. (Friends of Cave Creek Canyon).

Course Overview and Map

We will provide one support and gear station (SAG) station for both Saturday and Sunday where you can refuel with fruit, water, sports drinks, snacks, and sandwiches.

There will be two Sweep vehicles on the routes providing mechanical support, and first aid if necessary. Each vehicle will be marked with a yellow magnetic sign that reads, "SUPPORT VEHICLE".

Watch for GABA signs indicating all the turns of the course and turnaround points. If you want a paper map & cue sheet, please follow the links below and print from home to bring with you on your ride.  Limited number of maps & cue sheets at rider check in/registration.

The destination for this overnight ride is the Southwestern Research Station, a Biological Field Station in the Chiricahua Mountains in Southeastern Arizona. The Southwestern Research Station (SWRS) is a year-round field station under the direction of the Science Department at the American Museum of Natural History (New York, NY).  You can find more information about the Research Station in the Information Page.

Registration

Registration opens December and online registration closes Wed, April 18, 2018 at 10:00PM.

Each rider is required to register. Fees are per rider, not per bike (both riders of a tandem must register separately.) 

Review the Registration Process to ensure correct signup, and be aware of the cancelation policy (below). You must login as a member and register online for the discount. Day of ride registration will not be discounted.

  • 1 Dec – 3 April : GABA Members- $125.00/ Non - Members - $155.00  Register Now!
  • 4 April - 18 April : GABA Members - $145.00/ Non - Members - $175.00.
  • Non - Rider fee: $85.00.
  • No Day of.

Attention ABC/PMBC members: before registering, email Supported Rides@GABA to get your online discount code.

We’ll send emails to registered riders three days pre-ride with updates, so be sure to register with a working email address. If you do not see the GABA Welcome email by the day before the ride, please check your spam/junk folder.
